While I am using UM and WPUF the question still applies since the wordpress default roles would be affected. I am looking for a solution.
So say a Contributor has permissions to post in Category A. Later they are manually updated to Editor and given more permissions.
What I am finding is that in spite of their new permissions they lost all access to editing any posts they made as a Contributor. Same if an Editor is downgraded to a Contributor. They can’t edit any of the posts made as an Editor.
I need a solution that allows them to take their posts with them to the new role so they can continue to manage them.
Is there a piece of code or functions code or a plugin that does this, and if so that plays nice with UM/WPUF. Or, last case, worst case, a piece of code that just mass deletes their posts in the former role. I do not want to have to manually assign their posts to them. This should be a simple standard thing since we can reassign roles. They should be able to have the ability to keep their own published content no matter what role they have.
How do I accomplish this the easy way?
Thanks!
Thanks!
