I am providing WordPress support to few customers , I am not a wordpress developer but know my way around common troubleshooting issues. However, this time I am working with some customers who cannot allow any downtime or failure in their sites.
It is hard for me to assess logs as I am unfamiliar with how different ajax and functions works and why they might not**.I am in search of a resource to deep dive into how wordpress works in backend so I can understand these things better. Thanks**

You’ll need to be more specific. WordPress is a huge ecosystem and not something you can learn quickly. The server and hosting also plays a large part in its performance, and that’s something you should learn as well.
That said, everything you need to know is Googleable – you just need to know what you’re looking for.
