Need testing and submission advice for our simple unclickable-menu-item free plugin

[ad_1]

First time actually publishing a plugin intended for wide distribution via the plugin repository (and there’s a 70-day review backlog). I’d like to get a few others testing it before I send it to the repository so I get it right the first time.

All this plugin does is adds a checkbox in the menu properties to make it “Unclickable” (for use on parent menu items, etc that organize a menu but don’t have a destination of their own). It forces the destination URL to # and sets the CSS style to the normal arrow pointer imagery instead of the hand-pointer typical of a clickable link. All things you can do by hand, but this encapsulates it for non-CSS-savvy website operators like some of our clients.

We’ll probably be releasing some other plugins in the future with more substance, but this is our training wheels exercise to work through the publishing process.

Anyone who has submitted to the WP Plugin Repository before — is there an outline for what the file should look like you should submit? I know we have to submit our assets and stuff that doesn’t go in the normal plugin zipfile, but the only instructions for that talk about SVN access — do we just not submit those assets for the initial review?

Any feedback welcomed.
