Hopefully this is allowed here. I broke my site. Clicked “update wordpress” and ended up with “critical error”. I don’t know how to fix it. Stupid decisions in the past have me hosting on digitalocean, and I’ve spent all night trying to figure out how to gain file access through digitalocean SSH/FTP (to follow the troubleshooting steps) with no luck.
I’m to blame for this as I rarely check, troubleshoot, or update the back end. Only went in because my contact form wasn’t sending me emails.
So, in the short term, I’m looking for someone to fix the critical error, get the site back up, and get everything updated.
In the medium term (like, right after we get the site back up), I’m looking to migrate to a more user-friendly hosting platform.
In the long term, I’m looking for someone to check my sites at some agreed upon regular interval to update/perform necessary maintenance.
Happy to pay fairly, but relying on you to propose what’s fair. You have knowledge and skills I don’t, and your time is valuable, so I promise I’ll be reasonable on this!
