I would love to collaborate with someone to help me understand the process of moving from Bluehost hosting with my WordPress.com site to Cloudways hosting. I started on Monday this week with Bluehost, intending to begin a blog on WordPress with hosting on Bluehost. I cancelled my payment to Bluehost ultimately because their support team was generic, confusing, and made me throw up red flags each time we spoke. I have received a refund from Bluehost for the hosting except the ownership of the domain name. It is my understanding the the domain can’t be moved for 60 days (?). After much more extensive research, I have signed up with Cloudways hosting and I’m much happier with them so far.
My issue now is I believe I must go through some steps to move from Bluehost to Cloudways that I have to manage myself. I have looked up a few tutorials on sites like markletic, but I am to the point where I’m in over my head and don’t feel comfortable proceeding from here. I tried hire someone on Upwork for support, but I ending up cancelling my job with them on the first day because they were asking for my personal login to Bluehost, among other things, and this person also made me throw up red flags as well. 😓
If you have any advice on how to move from Bluehost to Cloudways, and how to ensure I have a .com site for my blog (not site.wordpress.com), and any general tips for starting my blog on Word Press through all of this frustration, I would be forever grateful. Thank you.
