All of a sudden i'm no longer site administrator on my own site (no third parties attached). I can't install new plugins or update the software. I don't know how to fix it. Can somebody help?

do you have access to your host? specifically to your database admin panel? [try this](https://help.one.com/hc/en-us/articles/17467509114385-How-to-add-an-Admin-User-to-the-WordPress-database). you may need to make a new user, then make your current user admin.
bad news is you have probably been hacked. user permissions dont just change on their own.
Try logging in the dashboard from C-panel and also check in c-panel file manager whether by mistake any new plugin got installed recently.
Run a debugging to determine the specific issue on the front end. For other solutions, please check your wp-admin file or disable all plugins and manually activate them; it seems one of your plugins is causing an error.
Access your database via phpMyAdmin and manually restore your admin privileges
