Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Can you please explain this some more? Are you getting any messages after clicking the “Save changes” button (either error or success messages)? Is the loading spinner showing after clicking the button and is the button temporarily disabled then?
Regards,
Tobias
I am cutting and pasting from a pdf table. The spinner spins briefly and the message is “The table was saved successfully.”
Sometimes the save does work fine and other times the change is not there. It is a live website, but I could do a staging site if needed.
Hi,
ok, if you see the “The table was saved successfully.” message, the table has been saved successfully. How do you then see that it has not actually saved? Is it possible that you are seeing a cached version of the table somewhere?
And how exactly are you pasting the content? With the mouse? Or keyboard shortcuts? Can you maybe create a screencast of all this?
Finally, can you reproduce this problem on a free test site via https://tablepress.org/demo/#try ? Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Tobias
Here is a Loom video https://www.loom.com/share/8fbd357f6c7a489696e25442a018d708 from the test website. I think it shows the problem I am seeing. Thank you!
Hi,
thanks a lot for that! Now I see what you mean. This seems to be more a problem of the “Paste” feature in the context menu. I’ll investigate this.
Just to confirm: Does this happen when you type in the new cell value or if you paste it by pressing Ctrl+V on the keyboard?
Regards,
Tobias
Thank you! It does not happen when I type the value in or when I past with Ctrl+V.
Hi,
thanks for the confirmation! I think I have found a possible cause for this and I’m testing a fix right now. If this turns out to work, I’ll release a new version of TablePress with the bug fix for this tomorrow! 🙂
Best wishes,
Tobias
Thank you so much! I was able to update my tables using the Ctrl+V just fine.
Hi,
you are very welcome! Thanks again for reporting this and for providing the screencast!
Good to hear that the keyboard shortcut will work for now 🙂
Best wishes,
Tobias
P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
