I am currently designing a WordPress site for an online fitness studio that sells memberships which should allow access to several courses (dependent on the membership). These courses consist of video workouts that are hosted on Vimeo (they are all located on Vimeo already). I am a little bit stuck as to which course management plugin and membership plugin to use. Ideally, I would like to avoid a subscription-based service for any plugin, but in the end, what is most important is that it works well.
It should track which workouts have already been completed, and, ideally a progress bar of some sort. Possibly also a bit gamified, but that is optional. I hear mixed reports about the different LMSs and I am not even sure whether an LMS is what I want, or just a good video viewer plugin with a membership plugin restricting content.
This is for an online fitness studio where there is not a lot of budget so in order to make it viable I would prefer not to have yearly subscriptions of many hundreds of dollar. Long story short, I am a bit lost on what path to take.
Does anyone here have any experiences or insights?
