Order Cancelled rather than Failed

[ad_1]

Hi @craigmckee,

When customers leave something at the checkout, we have it set to expire after 15 minutes which is all working. My issue is that this order is then marked as “cancelled” rather than “failed”. How can I change it to failed?

From what I understand, you’re looking for a way to change the status of an order from “Cancelled” to “Failed” when a customer leaves items in their cart and does not complete the purchase within a set period of time, in this case, 15 minutes.

To better assist you, could you please provide some additional information? Specifically, are you referring to a situation where a cart is abandoned, and if so, how are you currently tracking these abandoned carts? This information will help us to understand your setup and provide you with the most accurate and helpful solution.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. This is just managed through the Woocommerce settings:

But this should be a “failed” order rather than a “cancelled” order as the customer hasn’t cancelled, they’ve failed to complete.

Hi there

But this should be a “failed” order rather than a “cancelled” order as the customer hasn’t cancelled, they’ve failed to complete.

“Failed” is when the Payment failed or was declined. In this case, “Cancelled” is the correct status. It is typically used when an order is abandoned or not completed for some reason.

Currently, WooCommerce does not provide an out-of-the-box option to change the status from ‘Cancelled’ to ‘Failed’ for abandoned carts. However, you can achieve this by using custom code or a plugin. AutomateWoo is one such tool. If you want to learn more about it, you can check out its documentation or create a presales ticket with us.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Cheers.
