Other users create campaigns | WordPress.org

Hi @chrisdolch,
Glad you reached out, this is a great question.

Only site admins have the ability to create and edit campaigns, and this is by design. The functionality for creating campaigns independently would be closer to a crowdfunding option, which is something GiveWP doesn’t support, but it is something that has been a topic of discussion. The crowdfunding information I’m sharing here might get you closer to what you are looking for.

One quick note before I dive in here: Some payment processors have stringent guidelines in place when crowdfunding is being implemented, so you’ll want to be cautious of that.

At the moment we don’t have an option for crowdfunding, but it is a feature request we are tracking here: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/create-a-crowdfunding-campaign-like-gofundme-with-givewp. We are actively tracking user feedback to gauge the interest in this particular feature, and I would encourage you to add a comment on that post. You can use the link to check in for updates, and I’ve also linked your ticket internally so when the issue is resolved we can reach back out to update you.

We do have an example of a workaround, but it uses the Peer-to-Peer add-on, which is a paid add-on. I cannot provide support for paid products on this forum, so if you have questions about this your best bet will be to reach out to us at https://givewp.com/contact-us/ and we’ll be happy to give you more details.

The Peer-to-Peer add-on is GiveWP’s tool for community fundraising, intended for your supporters to fundraise on your behalf, where all funds are raised towards one larger goal. There is only one donation form tied to the P2P campaign, however, so all funds are processed via one payment method and into one account.

Here’s an example of the P2P solution in action on our demo site:

There’s a bit of a difference between Peer-to-Peer and Crowdfunding, like GoFundMe. It is possible to connect GiveWP to multiple Stripe accounts, if you choose to go a different route and would like each specific donation form to allocate funds to individual bank accounts.

You can read more about this in an article we wrote about creating a crowdfunding campaign that might align better with your goals. One important note: this is a custom solution and falls outside the scope of what we can support:
https://givewp.com/create-a-peer-to-peer-fundraising-campaign-with-givewp/

This tutorial uses a third-party form builder to allow folks to create a submission for a fundraising page, which then a GiveWP form is created.

Hopefully I’ve given you some rails to run on and some ideas that might get you headed in the direction you’d like to go. I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved for now, if you have any questions you can send them along at the email address above. Happy fundraising!
