A site we are developing has the Setting > Reading > Allow Search Engines set to not allow which sets a noindex meta tag. However, when I unticked this all pages are still listed as “noindex”.
I checked RankMath settings also, and we have this set to allow indexing in the Titles and Meta settings.
Essentially, there is nothing I can do to bulk-set the indexing of all pages to be indexable.
We are using Elementor, so RankMath adds a SEO tab in there. If I set the indexing to “on” in there, the page is indexable. However a) this would mean a manual edit of all pages, and b) I’m left wondering if there is some kind of error still lingering.
If I uninstall RankMath, and have the WordPress Settings > Reading to allow search engines, then page indexing is on (as it should be), but re-install RankMath and once again they are all non indexable, even if the WordPress setting is to allow indexing.
