I logged on to one of my sites a couple of minutes ago and went straight to the Jetpack stats only to see that EVERY site stats’ analytics has been blocked, and Jetpack is asking that I upgrade to see them. I clicked on the upgrade link only to see that Jetpack is charging $8.34 for 10k monthly views, that’s about 333 daily visitors! Imagine small publishers struggling and losing sleep over SEO and traffic, forking out $8.34 monthly just to see their traffic stats.
If you remove the site’s stat option from Jetpack, it’s a pretty useless plugin with many functionalities that do nothing. And I don’t want to discuss how this bloated plugin is server-hungry. I understand if Automattic is the only software company in the world that provides WordPress stats, but then there is Google Analytics, which is WAY MORE robust, in-depth, and FREE and can be accessed at the WordPress backend.
I am interested in seeing how many publishers worldwide will upgrade this joke.
The funniest part is the benefits of “upgrading (6th frame). Lol!

This has been discussed in this sub (and everywhere online) ad nauseam for the last 3 months. No professional/serious publishers use Jetpack analytics. One of the main drawbacks is that it doesn’t properly exclude bot traffic (which is probably deliberate so that all the [wordpress.com](https://wordpress.com) users with 0 human traffic don’t get depressed and delete their account)
As an aside, it’s concerning that you haven’t logged into your site for that long, as it means you aren’t likely keeping up to date with plugin + them updates.
