Hello,
Foremost, thanks in advance for any help. I tried to the best of my abilities to debug . I have found similar cases, but have not found a solution.
The problem :
There is a purchase on the site. It is approved on Stripe, but in Woocommerce orders are “Pending payment”. I have to manually change the order status. This is an e-learning site in France, selling in France.
Among the plugins on the site are W3 Cache and Wordfence.
Here is what I have done.
-I removed Products inventory hold stock time. The field is now blank. (The first purchase on the site actually went to ‘Failed.’ After I removed stock time, all purchases now go to ‘Pending Payment.’)
-Tried to recreate the bug in testing mode, but all transactions are successful (even with 3D authentication test cards).
-Deactivated / reactivated plugins
-I bought products in live mode and the problem occurs. It even occurred after I deactivated the security plugin.
-I deactivated all plugins and activated Woocommerce, WooCommerce Stripe Gateway and the Storefront Theme. The same issue occurs. Please note, I was not able to refund myself via the button “Refund…via Stripe.” After I tried, there is a browser popup that states – “mydomain dot com says An error occurred while attempting to create the refund using the gateway API”.
(I have to admit, when I do purchases in France with my credit card, I have to go through a verification process with my CC. First there is an SMS with a code. Then I have to add my own pw for internet purchases. None of this occurs when I make a purchase with this website. )
-I need to boost the WordPress memory (but I don’t think that is the issue)

On the Stripe side under Webhooks, I notice that for each sale the ‘payment_intent.succeeded’ does not go through initially go through, then it does go through the second time.
