PHP Deprecated: preg_match() | WordPress.org

[ad_1]

Hi @dimalifragis, thanks for highlighting the deprecation notice you’ve seen.

I’ve not seen this specific case of preg_match() mentioned internally, so have made the development team aware just in case it was not already marked for replacement in the near future. Deprecation notices are non-fatal so won’t be affecting PHP’s ability to complete tasks on your site.

As you probably know but may be useful for others who see the same issue, these are treated as a note to ensure the function (or the way it is used) has been changed before a future version of PHP that will no longer support it.

Many thanks,
Peter.
