Physical Memory Spiking

Our company website seems to have physical memory spiking and maxing out at times, along with CPU usage and processes. It seems to happen sporadically. Like yesterday I was creating a new page and went to save a draft of it, nothing major and it killed the site for 5-10 minutes.

I understand that its most likely plugins effecting this, however my knowledge of diagnosing these issues is something I am really not familiar with. The problem is I can’t reliably re-create the issue, it only happens at times so disabling plugins one by one doesn’t really work for me.

How else can I test or see what is causing these spikes as it seems to be appearing a bit more recently. Also the website seems to take a bit longer to load recently so Im sure there is more going on behind the scenes.

  1. Query monitor plugin.

Though it sounds like your hosting doesn’t have sufficient memory. What hosting do you have? Cheap/Shared hosting commonly exhibits the issue you’re seeing.
