Please Advice on Pro Elements

[ad_1]

Hey everyone, I have seen Pro Elements (basically Elementor Pro plugin but free) popping up a lot lately and I really want to use it, but some comments say it’s probably not safe to use on live sites. Can someone again PLSSSSS say if it is okay (safe) to use or not? I know under the WP license it’s legal, I just don’t want it to break any sites, or for there to be malware.

  1. Fine…I’ll start the shit show. Yes, it’s fine. It’s not “nulled” in the shady sense. It has a repo on github, anyone can check themselves. It’s about as transparent as it’s possible to be. IMO it represents the very nature of open source. You can disagree on ethical grounds, which I don’t, but anyone at all can diff the packages themselves.

  2. Only thing I can say, You guys are cruising for a Bruising.
SOP: Oh, it looks clean, let’s use it and let’s use it on sensitive sites
Step 2: Easter Egg is inserted giving them FTP access to your sever
Step 3: Oh, I was sued for compromising XYZ Data
Step 4: Ask Reddit if you are liable if a plugin you used was malicious ?

    He he he

  3. So what’d they do? Take the Elementor Pro plugin that devs work hard to develop, drop it in a repo and slap a not-so-creative name on it?

Here’s to hoping someone steals your hard earned work and makes a profit on it.
