Pls help: how to create a subsite for just small posts

Hey everyone,

I have a WordPress blog with predominantly long blog posts, talking 3k word count or more.

I also have published 200 – 300 word count post daily for months in the past and really enjoyed this.

I want a 'home' for these smaller posts that allows me to easily upload them, where it's not going to clutter my main blog with lots of these mini write ups.

Ideally the subblog or mini blog would also have a 'show me a random one's button so people can skip through them ad hoc.

Is this doable? Am I a fool? Is there a way simpler solution here?

ATM I'm thinking I could do a minipostpage.site.com type thing where minipostpage is a separate space.

If I do this can I customise my theme separately so that the second area is much cleaner and more minimalist, only encouraging a) read more mini posts or b) share these mini posts..?

Any input would be really appreciated.
