Plugin to create custom folders in permalinks?

[ad_1]

Our site’s structure is completely flat (sitename.com/post1, sitename.com/post2, etc.). I want to test adding category names to the URLs to improve SEO, thoughI know this can be very risky.

I have a dozen articles in one category that haven’t gotten a ton of traction, so they seem like they would be a good test case for this. I’d like to change the URLs to be sitename.com/**categoryname**/post1

WordPress makes it easy to add the category name to ALL posts in the permalink settings, but it doesn’t look like you can do that for just selected posts. Editing the permalink directly doesn’t work, as WordPress changes it to categoryname-post1.

Are there any plug-ins that make it easy to create a custom folder and add selected posts to it? I looked at Wicked Files, but got nervous that it would make global changes.

Thanks!
