I've read so many posts in this forum (thank you all!) about this topic but still need a bit more assistance. If I want to build a site like Etsy with a parallel subscription service . Hoping the intelligent collective can assist me…
An example would be a site that allows vendors to create and upload hiking maps (images and pdf). Customers can execute a search (text and check boxes / drop downs search criteria) that would display all vendor offerings that meet the search criteria. Customers would then add to cart and purchase chosen content using CC and Paypal to start. The store applies appropriate tax, takes a % of the sale, shipping is a download link sent via email, the vendor sites would all look similar using standard predefined categories and selections (overall rating, difficulty, scenery).
I've gathered from this forum and research this example fits the standard multivendor marketplace (If there is a standard) design requiring – WordPress Multistore Network and WooCommerce Marketplace. What am I missing? Dokan? What would you recommend?
Say also that the site offers a subscription that ties purchases to google maps. Using the above example when a logged in customer purchases a map the system would add a pin to the users personal google maps instance. (I understand there would be custom programming to integrate with google maps) So for this scenario would I simply have a store running in the marketplace that offers subscriptions? And then custom code would check that if a subscription has been purchase then this integration step occurs on purchase?
What if I want to allow each vendor to offer a subscription for their own monthly content (Patreon style)?
I know I'm missing a bunch of things. Please help a newb with a cool idea (No its not hiking maps ;))
