Subdomain in different hosting possible?
Hi everyone, apologies in advance for any mistakes (not a native English speaker) and for my lack of technical knowledge.
I have a website, let’s use “www.website.com” as an example.
“www.website.com” is hosted on Bluehost and uses WordPress
I want to have “www.website.com/shop” to be a shop in Big Cartel
Is this possible?
As to why this would be done like this – Big Cartel is super affordable and easy to use to setup a online store but I really want to have a dedicated blog section (hence WordPress).

It would make more sense to have the Big Cartel shop on “[www.website.com](https://www.website.com)” and for your WordPress blog to be on a subdomain, e.g. “[blog.website.com](https://blog.website.com)”.
But in answer to your question, yes you can have different subdomains on different hosts. There’s not really any limit. You just configure the DNS so that the A record for the subdomain points to that specific host (they should provide you with the IP address you’ll need to use).
