Post categories in back end of WP – how to achieve this?

Someone at my organisation built our site and I can no longer contact them. They set up something like post categories, which are pinned to the left of the dashboard – when you click the category, you get a whole list of posts. (see image). I am trying to figure out how this was achieved, but without any luck. I am now one of the people responsible for editing the site and need to know how this was set up to add further categories.. The site uses Elementor and the theme is Hello Elementor. Any ideas? Thank you folks 🙂

  1. Also, when you click the main “Posts” tab at the top left, only one post shows up – the posts are all hiding under these individual categories instead. So I can only assume that this was somehow done through Elementor, as it doesn’t seem like it would be possible otherwise

  2. Sounds like it might be custom post types. These can be created with a plugin (CPT UI, Pods for example) or in code in a child theme.
Have a look there – plugins and themes.
