Post Notificaitons: Does MP hold a queue of unpublished posts (can we disable)?

Hello! Please hear my experience:

Wanting to publish a new post without MailPoet sending it, I toggled the Post Notification Status to OFF, as shown:

Then I wrote my post, published it, and toggled the Status back on.

Before I know it the post gets sent! It seems that MailPoet checks for any published posts that haven’t been sent, rather than only send at the time of publishing.

If that is the case, how can we add posts without also sending them as emails? Sometimes I don’t want to email a given post.
