problems with site translations

here I am again with a silly question.

My site is built in French and translated into two other languages with WPML.

I’ve been reorganizing the categories and other things that were a mess to get ready for a new site.

It’s more or less finished in the original language, but when I change languages the categories don’t appear, even after translating and trying to synchronize.

Can anyone tell me what I’m missing?

I know it’s a temporary situation, but most of my clients (the good ones) consult the site in English or German.
