I would like to put my WordPress site on Google cloud Compute but initially setup the firewall rules so that only my computers public ip can access it, until I get the site built. This way, I’m a bit less worried about getting hacked until I have it all ready. However, I’m pretty sure I have to open up my firewall for https traffic in order to install a letsencrypt certificate.
Do yall know of a way to keep all traffic restricted to my ip address even while installing an ssl certificate or do I have to just temporarily open my firewall to do this? Also, if I have to temporarily open the firewall then if I lock the firewall down after installing the certificate will ssl still work between my computer and my website?
