Hi guys, I currently setting a personal blog based on my company site’s subdomain and want to make it into 2 languages with no translation just 2 language separately.
I was trying since yesterday and could not find a way to make it although I tried WordPress’s [Multilingual Site Tutorial Using Blocks (No Plugins)](https://wordpress.com/support/tutorials/simple-multilingual-site-tutorial-using-blocks-no-plugins/#2-select-the-layout-for-your-menu-and-language-switcher) already and couldn’t make it maybe because I’m using [Blogvi theme](https://wordpress.org/themes/blogvi/) instead of [*Block Editor-compatible themes*](https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/block-editor-styles) (I’m not sure actually lol). The problem is that I cannot set up a homepage eventhought there’s a homepage button…
I’m 100% new to this and thank you so much if you could help.
Have a nice day!
Question about setting up a multi language site!
[ad_1]

for the home page part???
you have to create your home page like a ordinary page and than give it home page status which you can maybe find in your theme custimizer
[https://developers.google.com/search/docs/specialty/international/managing-multi-regional-sites#locale-specific-urls](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/specialty/international/managing-multi-regional-sites#locale-specific-urls) – use locale-specific URL paths eg /fr/
But to do this properly you need a multilingual plugin, to correctly handle things like hreflang and canonical links, which are important for multilingual.
