Question about spam form entries

[ad_1]

I work for a marketing agency and I noticed that every website our developer has created gets an **overwhelming** number of spam form entries. Like, 10 a day with gibberish or weird porn related messaging. I’ve never experienced this bad of a spam problem with any other websites from a previous agency. Is there something glaringly obvious that our dev probably isn’t doing to prevent this? Or is spam just this bad now? We tried adding honeypot fields and that cut down on some of it, but we’re still getting a lot daily.

  1. Aside from adding reCaptcha v3 or similar, I would take this as the site being very popular on the web. I mean, I would worry about the search engine “visibility” of a site if it has been up for a while and it gets 0 spam attempts.
