On one hand I keep seeing that Elementor is bloated, which is bad for SEO. I watched a video where both tools are used to create an identical website which are then compared using [GTmetrix.com]). The Gutenberg website wins across every metric, the visual quality is even better.
On the other hand I am reading nothing but complaints about Gutenberg’s usability, and it’s limited tools. I want to make the judgement call myself, but I am having a hard time understanding what Gutenberg is. I understand that Gutenberg is the new editor for WP, but I am looking for clarification on some things.

* Is Gutenberg a plugin? is it a theme? I thought it was the latest official editor for WP, from WP. Why is it a plug in? I understand there was controversy and they ended up allowing the option to use traditional or block theme methods. Has it been turned into a plugin because of this?
* Are there plugins for the Gutenberg plugin? I am hearing about Kadence blocks, is that a plugin to the plug in?
* Do these plugins for Gutenberg contribute to bloat?
* Elementor blocks for Gutenberg plug in, Elementor/Gutenberg integration. Will this bloat up all of the “clean” code that Gutenberg uses?
* I hear you can edit HTML/CSS/java? with Gutenberg. Is this some kind of hybrid option where you get drag and drop comfort + the ability to customize with code? Is this WYSIWYG website building like Dreamweaver? That would be great!
* Is the default WordPress editor now the new block editor?
* I’m seeing multiple block editors out there, is block editing a new CMS tech that different companies are offering? My Hostinger account has a built in block website builder too.

Thanks for the help!
