Hi,
I have a lot of freelancers work on my site when there’s an issue. They usually ask for an admin role to make edits. Is this what I should be doing, or are they able to “remove” me and take over the website etc? Or is this impossible for them to do?

Sure they can do that, but unless you give out hosting details as well, you can always revert it.
Granted, you need to trust your freelancers, or get someone else to do it. It’s inherently hard to work on a platform, if you restrict the access.
