Quickest way to migrate content ?

[ad_1]

Hello,

How have you optimized to be most effective when editing content such as text, images, videoes and other graphics from one theme to another ?

The way I am doing it now is:

  • Buying a theme
  • Import demo
  • Make the frontpage. a servicepage and a blogpage manually (setting up layout, colours, inserting text and media). Setting up SEO settings in Yoast or Rank Math.
  • Duplicate these pages everytime I need to upgrade a new page, and start the finishing touches of the editing all over for each page.

When you have a page with more than 300 pages (not a webshop) then it's a lot of work, so I am searching for ways to do this much faster.

How do you do ?

  • Hire Fiverr help ?
  • Some automation tools ?
  • Using ai?
  • Just simple little hacks you have learned along the way ?

Thanks 🙂

  1. Where are you going from and to?

If they’re both just your own servers, just use (s)FTP on command line to transfer it across and make a new database

  2. Honestly not even sure what you’re asking. You’re talking about migrating media, but also talking about buying a pre made theme? This is word salad.

  3. If I get this correctly, you mean to use another theme and want all your content including media files to be there in your new theme. If so, then no tools is required. A theme is just a design template and does not store your data. All your pages, posts, images, etc will be there in tact in your new theme as well. Just install your new desired theme and you will find all your content there. BUT

Some designs/layout may be broken which are theme specific. For example, you current theme may have a new sticky header built-in but your new them may not have that function. In that case, you have re-do them yourselves of hire some who can help you achieve them. But this is just an example. Such things may not also happen.

Moreover, if you do not like the new them layout, you can easily switch back to your previous with just one click and no data (content/media etc. ) loss at all.

I would suggest you to try this in your staging environment like your local host (in your computer) or any dev domain and don’t recommend you to do this on your production site.
