Quickest way to regenerate thumbnails

[ad_1]

…on shared hosting

I’m installing a new theme for a client (who is on shared Bluehost hosting…) and my theme has new custom image sizes. My client has 2700+ images in the Media Library.

Regenerate Thumbnails and Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugins are taking forever (a minute per image), timing out and skipping images.

I attempted to use WP-CLI with the command wp media regenerate – but after hitting error messages and an over an hour long live chat with Bluehost, they finally tell me that regeneration via WP-CLI is unavailable to shared hosting customers.

Should I leave the plugin running for another two days constantly – or does anyone have any better ideas (client won’t move hosts unfortunately).

    All these are related.

The only way you can speed up this process is with better server processes (CPU, RAM, disk speed), you won’t get these on shared hosting.
