quotes in directory paths generate errors

[ad_1]

Just spent several hours trying to set up a site on localhost using xampp on a windows machine to export the static site to a local directory. I had naively copy/pasted the path to the local directory out of windows explorer, which included quotation marks. After several hours trying to figure out why the diagnostic page said it couldn’t write to the local directory when I am quite sure the permissions are correct, I removed the quotes around the path and it worked. If I go the local directory setting and put in “C:\” and save changes, the diagnostics page says it can’t write to the directory “C:\”/ but if I go to the settings page and use C:\ as the local directory then the diagnostics page says it can write to the directory C:/

Is this a bug?
