I’m a freelance web developer and my chosen tool for the job has been WordPress, ACF and custom themes to deliver websites to non-technical 3rd parties to maintain and update on their own without entirely bricking it the moment I look away. I’m always looking for the next best thing and idk if I’m feeling fomo or what but I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of developing web features by sticking to php.
I love WordPress as a cms as most clients are either familiar with it or can be trained to use it in a matter of hours. However I’ve been peaking over the fence at new JS frameworks for a while and wondered if anyone had any input on where to move or what to try if I wanted to get away from PHP. (Building things in JS has become a bit of a guilty pleasure and I’d love to work it into my professional workflow)
I’m likely to stick with my current stack for the foreseeable future but I’d love to hear the experiences of people who made such a switch and what that looked like for them

I’m not a frontend developer, and don’t plan to do anything like it anytime soon (rather i’m looking the other way, into Roots/Sage), but perhaps something like the headless frameworks like Faust might be up your alley if you want to be more familiar with JS and the language frameworks?
