Redirecting PDF from old media files

[ad_1]

Our company website was completely updated early last year. Recently someone came across a link to an old PDF which was uploaded to the media files of the old site which we no longer have access to.

This PDF contains information that is no longer relevant and will need to be updated. In the meantime I tried to create a redirect but our sever will not allow for PDFs to be redirected.

In the past I’ve found a workaround for this issue, however it would include me first deleting the file. Since I cannot access the file, I’m unable to do so.

Crazy enough my company lost their web developer months ago and hasn’t hired a replacement and I’m a novice in WordPress. Any suggestions on how to tackle this? Is there a way to still delete this file and the URL associated with it? That would be ideal since eventually we will have a brand new version of this PDF to upload.
