Redirection not created even though it claims to have made one

Hi. v1.0.204. When I edit a slug, I see the green bar popup that says a redirect has been created (I have automatic redirect turned on). This has always worked in the past. However, now the redirect is not in the list when I order by created date. I have pressed the “recreate tables” button, but no joy in more testing. Any further steps I should try?
