First, just to clarify, that number is the order or the invoice number, depending on your PDF invoice settings.
Second, removing it is not a good idea, since this could produce issues like sending the wrong document to a customer.
This is because the attachment stores the PDF document in your server temporarily, and if the same name is using for all the documents, our plugin will be overriding the same file always. Using a unique ID, like the order number or the invoice number, prevents the document from being sent to the wrong customer.
