I've been using HostGator for my domain and hosting because it was affordable, and so far, I haven't had any issues. However, as I'm approaching the end of my first year, I discovered that the renewal cost is suddenly around €230, which really caught me by surprise because I initially thought it was only €32 per year, but it turns out that's just for the domain. The Hatchling Plan, which I’m on, actually costs €180 to renew.
Do I really need to renew the Hatchling Plan, or is there a more cost-effective option?
First year is usually cheaper to win you as a customer
As long as you have the domain, you can transfer it wherever you want and set up a new hosting package elsewhere
Please make sure you backup your website data, database and emails for the migration.
Then choose a new hosting provide as €180 per year for a hosting package it’s a joke.
I highly recommend you Nixihost, they should be able to assist with the migration as well as setting up your website with them.
NixiHost doesn’t use surprise billing like HostGator, the price I saw when I signed up is the price I am paying a year later
