I have A2 hosting and I want to replace an existing React site with a WordPress one. I have the WordPress site set up on a subdomain and I’m ready to push it to production.
I asked their support and they suggested I [change the site url in the database]) but I don’t understand how or if that would work. That article doesn’t address moving the files and I don’t believe changing the url in the database would redirect to the new files.
I also found [this article]) on .org which starts the same, but adds moving the files as well though it worries me a bit that it is prefaced with “Moving the WordPress files from one location on your server to another – i.e. changing its URL – requires some special care.”.
How would you go about doing this? I don’t want to lose all of the work I have done but I worry that the domain change will break everything.
