Request for Feedback: Blogging Journey as a Beginner
Hey everyone, I’d love some constructive criticism on my blogging progress so far.
Background: Back in September 2023, I had zero knowledge about technology. I came across a YouTube video by Satish Bhaiya, where he talked about the profitability of blogging. This sparked a dream for me to make something of it.
My Journey (October 2023 – September 8, 2024): Honestly, I’ve spent a lot of time procrastinating, balancing my academics, and contemplating if this is something I’d regret not doing later in life. I did manage to create a basic job listing website after watching another YouTube video, but soon my motivation died again.
I’ve written and posted a few job opening blogs and shared them on Telegram, but I haven’t dived into SEO, backlinks, or other crucial aspects of blogging.
Current Stats:
Google Console: 27 clicks for 497 impressions (average ranking: 22)
Active users: 505 according to analytics
Telegram: 250 subscribers
Work Hours: In the last month, I’ve probably dedicated around 24 hours to this (about 1 hour daily for 24 days).
So here’s my ask: Am I heading in the right direction? Should I continue investing my efforts in this? I’d appreciate any advice on how to improve and whether this is worth pursuing.
I definitely understand how hard it is to balance blogging with school and work! I recommend focusing on improving your SEO and being patient with the results. Post consistently, install a plugin like AIOSEO, and just dedicate as much time as you can (even if it’s only once a month). Good luck!!
