When testing the REST API, an error was encountered:

Every action on the website as well as on the wordpress admin Dashboard is taking somewhere between 2-5 minutes to process. Even to just activate or deactivate a plugin takes around 5 minutes . In site health i encountered this critical error. I had made no change to the website for past few months , but suddenly had this problem . I had tried deactivating all the plugins but that did not help . Even to open site health takes 5 min.

Install Wordfence and run a scan. It could be hacked.
