Hello everyone,
I hope you’re doing well. I’ve taken on the task of updating a business website for a friend. The website is currently in a poor state and needs an urgent overhaul. I want to mention that I’m completely new to WordPress and I’m undertaking this project for free, primarily as a learning experience for myself while also helping out my friend. The website is hosted on GoDaddy, and the domain is registered with Google Domains (or it has been transferred to a new domain due to Google Domains’ closure).
I’ve decided to use the free version of Elementor and stick to entirely free solutions, including plugins. The website is for an electric design company and will encompass sections like About Us, Contact, Projects, Services, Partners, and a Home Page that combines all of the mentioned elements.
You can find the current version of the website here: [**http://day-engineering.com/**])
As someone with no prior experience in WordPress, I have a few questions:
1. Should I start by deleting all existing content and plugins and start fresh, or would it be better to work on a local WordPress instance and then migrate it (assuming this can be done for free)?
2. What would be the best approach to create the Projects page?
3. I’m open to suggestions for suitable themes and plugins that are beginner-friendly and free.
4. Presently, the website displays a “Deceptive site ahead” warning. How can I resolve this issue and prevent it from recurring? Additionally, I suspect that the email functionality might not be working correctly.
Since I’m doing this project entirely for free and with the intention of learning, any advice, guidance, or recommendations you can provide would be immensely valuable to me. If there are any tutorials you think would be particularly helpful, please let me know. Thank you so much in advance for your assistance!

Use local and play.
Read WP documentation, everything is there.
and of course
Avoid Elementor, it’s PITA.
For FSE = default theme, Frost or Blockbase
For block editors = GeneratePress with GenerateBlocks (my favorit combo) or Kadence with Kadence Blocks
For page builder = Breakdance with BreakdanceZero Theme
