That error happens when Site Reviews is unable to save the review details to the custom ratings table in the database.
This can happen for a couple of reasons:
1. You recently updated to a new major version of Site Reviews and the scheduled plugin migration did not run immediately after the plugin was updated.
2. Site Reviews adds foreign indexes to the custom tables to make the database queries perform much faster. If you have recently: a) cloned your database from another server, or b) restored your database from a old backup, or c) copied your website to or from a staging server, then it’s possible that the custom database table indexes need fixing.
To fix the problem, try the following:
- Deactivate Site Reviews and the Reactivate it (this should fix the table indexes).
- Go to the Site Reviews > Tools page, hold down the ALT key (Option key if using a Mac), and run the “Migrate Plugin” tool.
If neither of those things work, please go to the Help page, expand the “Contact Support” section, and answer each of the checkboxes to contact me directly.
My issue has been fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin with the option delete everything on uninstall turned on. This setting is under Site Reviews > Settings.
