sanity check on image block

[ad_1]

I can’t find anything online of anyone asking this specifically; however, I noticed this happens on a blank installation of WordPress, so can someone confirm this is the default behavior (and link to any documentation if it exists)…

**#1**

1. Upload an image in the media library (Dashboard > Media > Add New), set the Alternative Text to “Alt Text 1.0,” and set the Title to “Title Text 1.0.” see [https://i.imgur.com/WGOjBBX.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/WGOjBBX.jpg)

2. Create a new post, Posts > Add New, insert an image block, select “Media Library,” and insert the image uploaded in step #1 it pulls in the Alt Text as expected (“Alt Text 1.0”) but does not pull in a title text at all, see: [https://i.imgur.com/2LMo9Rj.png](https://i.imgur.com/2LMo9Rj.png)

**Question #1:** is this the default behavior of WordPress, to not pull in & set the title tag?

**#2**

1. Continuing from #1, if I go back into the media library and update the alt text to Alt Text 2.0, it does not persist in the new post I created. I believe this is expected behavior because once I create a block, it becomes a unit by itself, and its meta is not directly connected to the original media file. This allows us to use the same image in multiple places with the same image but different meta.

**Question #2:** is that thought process accurate?

However, #1 is somewhat curious and would love to know what the experts say and think!

Thanks,

Bob DiGi
