Looking for ages for a WP menu enhancement plugin or other method **to allow menu items to be scheduled.**
In other words, I want to add menu items for posts and other content in the WP Menu and then schedule them to appear at certain dates/times (bonus is both scheduling to appear and disappear at a separate time).
My example is a couple highly event oriented websites I run where pages and posts get scheduled for both publishing AND removal. Events plugins are overkill and not the right route (they also don’t allow menu scheduling).
WordPress oddly allows me to schedule posts but it can’t see said posts in the Menu interface so they can’t be added. To WP, posts don’t exist for the menu unless published. Why can’t I schedule a post and then add a menu item that appears in the menu when the post is published?
I’ve been using the excellent and free [PublishPress Future plugin](https://publishpress.com/future/) for page, post, and custom post type flexible scheduling, but it doesn’t support any menu functionality.
Luckily, I can set a post to be deleted via the Future plugin mentioned above and that forces WP to hide the associated menu item (weirdly, menu items stay live in WP if the associated post is set to Draft, ffs, causing viewers to see a menu item that must be broken—WHY WordPress!?). But forcing a post to delete to manage its menu item is such a sad workaround.
Any ideas are very welcome!

Typically Posts don’t go on menus – that’s why you’re not seeing that as an option. Normally you have a page that contains posts.
What is your use case?
