Search & Filter Pro plugin issues – Detect defaults from current page feature not working

I am having an issue with the Search & Filter plugin in WordPress.

I am using Elementor and the plugin itself is working fine on the Blog page (users can filter by the tags associated to the posts).

The way my pages are structured are like this:

* Category 1 – displays posts from category 1.
* Category 2 – displays posts from category 2.

However, when I check the feature that says “Detect defaults from current page” it doesn’t work. Do on Category 1 the Search form displays tags that are part of BOTH category 1 and 2, same for the Category 2 page.

I would like the Category 1 Search form to displays tags ONLY from Category 1 posts, same for Category 2.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
