Security Advice

[ad_1]

I have a website that is open for all to visit. No log-in required, no ads, no selling any products. It’s just a huge resource hub for people that are interested in the hobby of astrophotography. Do I need a security plug-in or is Jetpack decent enough? I was looking at All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall. Thoughts?

  1. Most people use Wordfence. The only real things you need to do to keep a website functioning and secure is to keep the plugins up to date, don’t use nulled software and use strong passwords.

  2. – Keep plugins and themes to a minimum
    – Keep WordPress core, plugins, and themes up to date
    – Don’t use small plugins and themes that aren’t reputable, and ensure all your software is being regularly maintained
    – Use a very strong unique password for your admin users and enable 2FA
    – Use the Wordfence plugin
    – Use Cloudflare for your DNS
    – Use a good hosting provider
    – Ensure ModSecurity WAF is enabled in your hosting account
    – Ensure your PHP version is up to date
