I have barely used WordPress as of now and want to know how secure it is with all things money, specifically in regards to the users of the potential website.

if you manage cms backend with another fqdn protected by crowdsec and cloudflare waf + zero trust you can then export pure compiled html (static export plugins available) to github pages and again, cached by cloudflare (cache everything rule /*) you will have a fast secure wordpress without the hassle of cms security management.
This approach is ok up to features which works if exported as expected in html (99% of wp content)
Very secure because WordPress doesn’t do anything related to payments by itself. If you want to accept payments, you need to use a payment processor like Stripe, Authorize.net, PayPal, etc., and they handle all of the security.
