Hello All,
I hope this is the right place to post this. I’ve read the rules and believe this fits in.
I have a small business and I want to create a brand new website for it. After watching YouTube videos and reading a lot here, my final contenders are Squarespace and WordPress. The main factor for me is “owning” the website instead of renting it from Squarespace.
I’ve started to investigate WordPress and plan my configuration. Here’s what I have so far:
**Technical Setup:**
* **Domain:** PorkBun
* **Hosting:** Cloudways (Managed)
* **DNS:** Cloudflare
* **Plugins:** I know there are still a lot of missing plugins that I will probably need.
**Design:**
* **Theme:** GeneratePress with GenerateBlocks (both free versions, at least to begin with)
* **Images:** [AllTheFreeStock](https://allthefreestock.com/)
* **Text:** I already have it.
**Purpose:**
* The main purpose of the site is to improve SEO on Google and generate leads through a form.
* I want the site to be fast, simple to edit, and easy to update once the setup is complete.
* There’s a future possibility of adding e-commerce functionality (in the far future).
I have a few questions:
1. Is there a comprehensive step-by-step guide for setting everything up? I couldn’t find one online.
2. Do you think this setup will work well?
3. If anyone has experience designing an RTL (right-to-left) website, I would love some tips, especially regarding designs or templates to use.
4. I’m a technical guy (BSc in Computer Science), but I’m still concerned about the “WordPress is not safe” claims. Do you think that’s the case? Do you have any security tips?
Thanks a lot!
