I’m delving into the realm of UX Builders and need some guidance. With about two years of WordPress experience, mainly using ACF Blocks, I’ve hit a roadblock. ACF’s been great, but its lack of a lifetime plan makes it less appealing due to the steep long-term costs.I’m eyeing Bricks and Oxygen, aiming for a tool that supports quick development for both my freelance gigs and day job. Their lifetime plans seem like a smarter financial move.
Bricks: Anyone with hands-on experience? How does it fare in terms of flexibility, user-friendliness, and development speed?
Oxygen: For the Oxygen users, how seamless is it to blend into various projects? And what’s the scoop on its learning curve and support system?
My projects often involve dynamic site designs and my clients are fans of animations, so a builder that can handle such requirements with ease would be ideal. I’ve used Bricks and Oxygen for projects in the past. They’re both really similar tbh.
Oxygen only has an integration with ACF while Bricks can integrate with ACF and Metabox. Bricks has a more developer friendly query editor and oxygen’s is behind a UI with dropdown selectors and guides you through it a bit more. I haven’t looked at premium components for a while- but if you’re into that the last time I checked there was a much bigger ecosystem for Oxygen compared to Bricks.
Personally I keep going back to Oxygen because I have some premium add ons that I use pretty regularly on freelance sites and because I’m used to the UI and process a bit more.
FWIW you can keep using acf blocks and build the layout with Oxygen if you really want to. It just requires some custom code. Not sure if this is possible with Bricks.
Elementor has a free plan. I like it. Does the job.
