A friend of my dad needed a website made and maintained to display products for their business and asked me since i study cs. I said yes thinking that ill figure it out later since i need some money and experience. Im fine with html, know how css works but dont have any practice and dont know javascript so i realised wordpress is my best option currently. Is there anything wrong in me creating and maintaining a wordpress for a paycheck?

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. You can build almost anything on WordPress (doesn’t mean you always should), so don’t view it as there’s something wrong with it—Look at WooCommerce, built on WordPress. WordPress will pay the bills, and in you’re spare time go learn PHP/Laravel or JavaScript/Next.js, along with CSS frameworks like Bulma, Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc. (not saying you should learn specifically these but giving you ideas)
