Server loses connection while working on live site, but works very slow locally (Woocommerce)

[ad_1]

Hi guys!

This is an issue I’ve been dealing with for quite some time now and it’s time to get this solved. I cannot be the only one.

Some information upfront

1. This occurs only on Woocommerce websites
2. I’m using Elementor with Hello theme
3. This seems to happen locally using LocalWP (MacOS), but also online
4. The hosting-party cannot see the time-out (contacted them multiple times about this)
5. I thought I found the problem, but now I found out I didn’t
1. I thought this was the auto-update companion pluging looking for updates crashing the webshop
2. Disabled it, seems to work on older websites, but not the new ones.
6. I’m not using any caching

So while working offline on the website, the webshop becomes very very slow while applying any changes over-time. What used to work is to migrate the website to an online environment. After while I just get a connection error that lasts for about 5 minutes until the website seems to be back online.

Previously I though I found out this was because of the auto-update companion updater. Because all my websites were affected all at the same time I thought this was a server issue and all of my websites are at the same server. Now this wasn’t the case and I found out the updater tried to check for updates all at the same time. This initially solved the problem.

Now I’m working on a new website, learned from the experience and trying to blame LocalWP for this. So again, I move the website online and delete the update companion, caching plugins and some other stuff I didn’t use. But the same thing happens….

What I’ve also noticed is that my htaccess file has been changed and I now also have a htaccess.bk file. In one of them I find stuff that shouldn’t be there. Things like “1 year of access” etc. Stuff that I’ve seen from malware infected sites.

So I’m now thinking that al the files are infected from the start causing this.

Anyone else has experience with this?
